Our Entrepreneurial Journey
Embarkus began it’s entrepreneurial journey in 2006 with the founding of an IT Services company, which has since continued to operate successfully and profitably. In 2017, we formally incorporated our residential property business, which had originally been started in 2008, in order to better structure and scale its operations. These foundational businesses laid the groundwork for our expansion into new sectors.
Our Vision for Domiciliary Care
In 2023, we established Embarkus Ltd with a focused mission: to make a meaningful impact on the UK’s domiciliary care sector by improving the quality of home-based care for the elderly. Rather than building a new care business from scratch, we created Embarkus Ltd as a holding company to acquire and consolidate established domiciliary care providers under a single group structure. This acquisition-led strategy allows us to immediately benefit from existing client relationships, experienced staff, and proven care operations.

Chairman: Mark Garius, B.Sc. (Hons)
Mark Garius is a highly experienced executive professional with a career spanning four decades and multiple C-Suite roles in both large and small enterprises. He has personally delivered 30 acquisitions across four businesses, with deep expertise in M&A preparation, fundraising, transacting, and integrating businesses. Mark’s ethos is to work collaboratively with acquired business owners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. He currently serves as Chairman of Celebrate Life Group Ltd, a company focused on acquiring funeral businesses in southern England, and as a Non-Executive Director at Prosell Learning Ltd, a global skills development consultancy. Additionally, Mark has supported Automated Systems Group Ltd as an M&A Consultant after leading 14 acquisitions for the company.

CFO: Nick Kennedy FCA
Nick Kennedy is an accomplished CFO who has extensive experience across various industries, including utilities, power generation, construction, property development, and software. He has raised over £75 million in funding for companies, including £45 million in securitization finance, £20 million in IPO, and £10 million in private equity. Nick has held C-Suite roles at AIM-listed companies and has worked as a consultant director and finance director in a wide range of client projects. His expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, financial planning, budgeting, working capital management, investor relations, and project finance. Nick’s strategic, commercially focused approach ensures that Embarkus remains financially sound and well-positioned for growth.
Accounting Director: David Thomas, B.Eng., ACA
David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England Wales (ICAEW) having qualified with Ernst & Young, London. He has been working in Accounting, Finance and Banking for 35 years since completing his degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Southampton.
Roles have included Director, Financial and IT audit, Corporate actions, Due diligence, Compliance, Risk and Consultancy to a broad range of medium to large enterprises. These have included J.P. Morgan, Barclays, UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland and London Stock Exchange.
Recently David has focussed on leading the implementation of Information Technology (IT) and process-based projects with significant cultural change, for example, implementing a third-party accounting system to standardise processes, reduce costs of maintenance and the inherent risks of over reliance of in-house IT. He still enjoys contributing to the “real work” as there are always new and interesting facets to understand and learn.
Legal Director: Ashraf Mohammed
Ashraf Mohammed is a commercial lawyer and senior executive with over 35 years of national and international experience. He has served in senior roles with major firms and organizations, including the Asian Development Bank, and was the European general counsel for a NASDAQ-listed telecom company. Ashraf has a wealth of experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and legal risk management. He has worked across sectors such as financial services, telecoms, legal services, and infrastructure financing. Ashraf’s extensive legal and commercial expertise ensures that Embarkus adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance and legal compliance.
Industry Expert: Simon Sinclair
A widely experienced and versatile Director, Simon has a highly successful track record across a range of senior management roles in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare sectors. His experience includes Sales, Marketing, Commercial and Leadership roles with AstraZeneca, Novartis, Healthcare at Home, Complete Care and EnViva Care.
Since 2012, Simon has led growth, acquisitions, and mergers for specialist domiciliary care providers. He has successfully rebranded and integrated both small and national companies and established successful start-ups. Simon is adept at building and managing winning teams, creating and maintaining thought leadership, and delivering win-win outcomes in complex multi-stakeholder services.
Founder & CEO: Haresh Rane
Haresh Rane is the visionary founder and CEO of Embarkus, with nearly 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship. Before founding Embarkus, Haresh successfully established and continues to operate both an IT services company and a property business. His goal with Embarkus is to improve the quality of domiciliary care for the elderly through the adoption of the latest technology and best practices. Haresh has a passion for innovation and is committed to integrating cutting-edge solutions like wearable devices and AI to enhance care delivery. He believes in taking risks and seeing beyond the present to create meaningful change in the home-based care sector. Haresh’s vision and leadership have guided the creation of Embarkus, where he has brought together a team of industry leaders to execute on his mission.
